Former PM Nawaz Sharif urged by Rana Sanaullah to retake PML-N presidency after court acquittal. Party hopeful for resurgence under his leadership.

Nawaz Sharif, the former three-time prime minister of Pakistan and founder of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is being urged by senior party leader Rana Sanaullah to reassume the presidency of the party. This call comes after Nawaz Sharif was removed from the party leadership position following a Supreme Court ruling in 2018.

Rana Sanaullah made these statements during a press conference in Lahore, emphasizing that Nawaz Sharif had been acquitted by the court and should now consider taking back the reins of the PML-N. Sanaullah expressed confidence that the party would be better equipped to serve the people of Pakistan under Nawaz Sharif's leadership.

Despite a previous petition being rejected by the Lahore High Court seeking to reinstate Nawaz Sharif as the president of PML-N, Sanaullah remains optimistic about the party's future direction. He also praised Maryam Nawaz Sharif for her efforts in providing relief to the public through her work within the Punjab government.

It is noteworthy that Nawaz Sharif's potential return to the presidency of PML-N has sparked discussions within the party, with supporters hopeful for a resurgence under his leadership. However, the final decision rests with Nawaz Sharif himself, who will consider the party's suggestions upon his return to Pakistan.
