Aftab Sherpao criticizes KP government for losing authority and calls for urgent national dialogue amid rising unrest.

In recent times, the political landscape of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has been marked by significant unrest and challenges. Senior politician Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, who is the Chairman of the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), has voiced serious concerns regarding the current state of governance in the province. He asserts that the KP government has "lost its writ," indicating a decline in its authority and effectiveness in managing the province's affairs.

During a media interaction in Charsadda, Sherpao highlighted that the provincial rulers seem preoccupied with organizing protest rallies and sit-ins. This, he argues, is a clear sign of their failure to maintain control and address pressing issues. Instead of focusing on governance and development, the leadership appears to be engaged in what he describes as "conflictual and agitational politics." As a result, the progress in KP has come to a standstill, leaving citizens in a state of uncertainty.

Moreover, Sherpao emphasized the urgent need for a national dialogue among all political parties. He believes that the current circumstances call for collaboration rather than confrontation. The ongoing political strife, he argues, is detrimental to the province's development and stability. In his view, the focus should shift from protests to constructive discussions that can lead to meaningful solutions.

Addressing the issue of rising terror incidents in the region, Sherpao pointed out that "foreign hands" are allegedly involved in these activities. He stressed that the government's limited actions are insufficient to tackle the situation effectively. Instead, he advocates for a large-scale operation to address the root causes of terrorism. According to him, merely adopting undemocratic means or maintaining a conflictive attitude will not resolve the issues at hand. He reminded the public that the courts of law are responsible for deciding on matters related to jailed politicians, and that the political process should respect these legal frameworks.

The situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa serves as a reminder of the importance of effective governance and the need for political unity in times of crisis. As citizens look for stability and progress, it is crucial for political leaders to prioritize dialogue and collaboration over conflict. Only through a united front can the province hope to overcome its challenges and pave the way for a brighter future.
