PTI Protest Leads to School Closures in Islamabad and Rawalpindi

In a significant move, the local administration has decided to close private schools in Islamabad and Rawalpindi today, Friday, due to the anticipated protest by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party at D Chowk. The Islamabad Private School Association has officially announced the closure of schools, emphasizing that the safety of children is their utmost priority. General Secretary Waheed Khan expressed concern, stating, "Even yesterday, students faced difficulties due to the containers blocking roads." In addition, Abrar Ahmed, President of the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association for North Punjab, confirmed that educational institutions in Rawalpindi will also remain closed today. Furthermore, a spokesperson for the Islamabad Police has announced that all facilitation centers and driving license offices will be closed today. This is part of a broader effort to manage the situation effectively and ensure public safety during the protest.

The metro bus service in Rawalpindi will also be suspended today, as per the directives of the district administration. The bus administration clarified that while the service from Saddar to IJP Road will be halted, the route from IJP Road to Pak Secretariat will remain operational.
