The GAZOO Racing GR GT Cup Asia 2024 has concluded with an exhilarating finale that showcased the incredible talent of e-Motorsports racers from across Asia. This year, the event took place at the Connexion Conference and Event Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where 15 of the region's best racers competed fiercely for the title of Asia Champion. The competition featured participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, all racing on world-class circuits in a bid to secure their place in the upcoming GR GT Global Finals in Amsterdam.

Taj Izrin Aiman from Malaysia emerged victorious, claiming the title of Individual Champion with a total of 65 points. His performance was nothing short of spectacular, especially after a series of dramatic races. Following closely behind was Andika Rama from Indonesia, the returning champion from 2023, who finished with 57 points. Moreno Pratama, also from Indonesia, made a remarkable debut by securing third place with 48 points. The consistent efforts of Rama and his teammates led Indonesia to clinch the Country Championship title, further highlighting their dominance in the competition.

The races were held on the popular Gran Turismo 7 for PlayStation®5 and PlayStation®4, where drivers displayed a mix of strategic skills, precision driving, and bold maneuvers. Fans were treated to thrilling action on iconic tracks such as Sardegna Windmills, Nürburgring Grand Prix, and Fuji International Speedway. Jaja Ishibashi, General Manager of Toyota Motor Asia, emphasized the importance of community and continuous improvement in e-Motorsports, stating, "The heart of Toyota, and GAZOO Racing GT Cup Asia has always been about fostering a community of excellence rooted in our Japanese practice of Kaizen, or Continuous Improvement."

The competition kicked off with the first race at the Sardegna Windmills circuit, where drivers took control of the GR Yaris. Rama quickly established himself as a frontrunner, winning the first race despite fierce competition from racers from Malaysia and the Philippines. The second race at Nürburgring GP saw a reverse grid format, which allowed Pratama to capitalize on his eighth-place finish in the first race, ultimately winning the second race. The rain added an extra layer of challenge, leading to numerous position changes and showcasing the drivers' adaptability.

The final race at Fuji International Speedway tested the racers' strategies to the limit. Aiman, who opted for a soft tire strategy, maintained his lead and executed a well-timed pit stop, securing his victory. An emotional Aiman expressed his gratitude, saying, "I'm truly at a loss for words. Although I faced technical difficulties and couldn't finish the race last year, I'm overwhelmed with pride that my dedication and training have paid off, leading to a victory at the GR GT Cup Asia 2024."

Rama, who is representing Asia for the second time, acknowledged Aiman's exceptional skills, stating, "Competing against Taj Aiman was an incredible challenge—he's an exceptional competitor. I pushed myself to the limit, but his consistency and strategy across all three races were unmatched."

As the racers prepare for the Global Finals in Amsterdam, the GAZOO Racing GR GT Cup Asia 2024 has not only highlighted the growing popularity of e-Motorsports in the region but also the dedication and talent of its participants. This event serves as a reminder of the exciting future of competitive gaming and the potential it holds for young racers aspiring to make their mark on the global stage.
