Taylor Pendrith surged into the lead at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson tournament after a remarkable performance in the third round at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. The Canadian golfer, aged 32, showcased his prowess by carding an impressive eight-under par 63, propelling him to a total score of 19-under 194 after 54 holes.

Pendrith expressed confidence in his game, stating, 'I’m swinging the golf club really good right now. I’m trusting my game, chipping it really well and putting it good. Just go out there and do the same as I’ve been doing and try not to worry about the other guys.'

His flawless round, the second-lowest in his PGA career, included back-to-back eagles at the fifth and sixth holes. These exceptional shots catapulted him into the lead at 16-under, setting the stage for an exciting final round.

American Jake Knapp and Canadian Ben Kohles are hot on Pendrith's heels, standing at 195 and 196 respectively. However, Pendrith remains focused on securing his first PGA Tour title, with his closest finish being a runner-up position at Detroit in 2022.

The tournament also saw notable performances from England’s Matt Wallace and young amateur Kris Kim, who at just 16 years old, displayed impressive skills around the greens. As the competition intensifies, Pendrith's determination to maintain his lead and clinch victory shines through.
