Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expands Lahore's Free Wi-Fi service

Lahore is currently experiencing a significant expansion of its Free Wi-Fi service, spearheaded by Punjab's Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif. This initiative aims to improve digital connectivity throughout the city, making it easier for residents to stay connected in various situations.

The Punjab Safe City Authority has recently increased the number of active Wi-Fi access points for the 'CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi' from 100 to 200. This expansion means that more areas in Lahore, such as Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Bund Road, Chohang, Shahpur Kanjran, Sunder, Valencia, and Maraka, now have access to this service.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has highlighted the importance of this Free Wi-Fi service in line with the Digital Punjab Vision. It serves as a crucial tool for emergency connectivity, allowing individuals to contact the police, communicate with family members, and access essential services like women's safety apps and Punjab police apps. Additionally, the service supports popular applications such as WhatsApp and taxi booking apps, enhancing daily convenience for users.

It is essential to understand that the 'CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi' service is primarily intended for utility purposes and does not support entertainment apps like Facebook, YouTube, or TikTok. Each Wi-Fi device offers coverage of up to 300 feet from its access point, ensuring widespread availability of the service across different areas of Lahore.
