Microsoft faces challenges as Windows 11 struggles to attract users away from Windows 10. Despite efforts to enhance the latest version, user reluctance and preference for Windows 10 persist.

Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 11, has faced a significant setback in terms of market share, as reported by Statcounter. The data revealed a sharp decline in Windows 11 users, dropping below 26%, while Windows 10 continues to dominate with over 70% of the user base.

Despite being released in 2021, Windows 11 has failed to attract users away from the older Windows 10, which was launched in 2015. The reluctance to upgrade is evident, especially considering that Windows 10's support is set to end in 2025.

Microsoft's hopes of boosting market share through enhancements in Windows 11 24H2, powered by an artificial intelligence system, seem unlikely to materialize. User feedback on Windows 11 has been mixed, with some complaints going unaddressed by the tech giant.

Interestingly, the outdated Windows 7 still maintains a larger market share compared to Windows 8.0 and 8.1. The lack of enthusiasm for newer versions, such as Windows 8.1, led to Microsoft making adjustments to cater to user preferences.

Despite Microsoft's efforts to encourage users to transition to Windows 11, the lack of significant improvements in the latest version has left many users unmotivated to make the switch. The user experience offered by Windows 10 remains preferred by the majority, highlighting the challenges faced by Microsoft in driving adoption of its latest operating system.
