The Open Forum Riyadh, a public event organized by the World Economic Forum and the Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning, is set to take place in Riyadh on April 28 and 29. This event, running alongside the WEF’s Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development, aims to highlight global challenges and opportunities. Under the framework of Saudi Vision 2030, Riyadh has emerged as a hub for thought leadership and innovation, showcasing its growing influence on the international stage.

The forum, open to the public, will facilitate discussions on various topics such as environmental challenges, mental health, digital currencies, artificial intelligence, the arts in society, entrepreneurship, and smart cities. Sessions will delve into the impact of digital currencies in the Middle East, the role of culture in public diplomacy, urban development for smart cities, and initiatives to improve mental wellbeing globally.

Established in 2003, the Open Forum aims to engage a wider audience in the activities of the WEF and has been held in countries like Cambodia, India, Jordan, and Vietnam. The panels will feature government officials, artists, civil-society leaders, entrepreneurs, and CEOs of multinational companies. Notable speakers at this year’s event include Yazeed A. Al-Humied, Princess Reema Bandar Al-Saud, and Princess Beatrice.

Michele Mischler from the WEF emphasized that public participation in the Open Forum sessions fosters diverse perspectives, enriches global dialogue, and empowers collective solutions for a more inclusive and sustainable future.

The Open Forum Riyadh promises to be a platform for meaningful discussions and collaborations, bringing together a diverse range of voices to address pressing global issues and explore opportunities for a more sustainable and inclusive future.
