Semiconductor Forum 2024 in Riyadh to Boost Local Chip Production

The third Future of Semiconductors Forum 2024 in Riyadh, set for June 5 and 6, will concentrate on strategies to boost local chip production and strengthen the nation's digital economy. Hosted by the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, the event will bring together experts to explore various aspects of chip manufacturing, from raw material acquisition to the creation of finished microchips.

Dr. Munir Eldesouki, president of KACST, stressed that the forum aligns with the research, development, and innovation goals set by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Discussions will cover the Saudi Semiconductors Program, a collaborative effort involving 16 universities in Saudi Arabia that has trained over 400 researchers and students in microchip design and manufacturing.
