Pakistan Telecommunication Authority enhances SIM card security measures

Previously, obtaining the owner's information involved contacting the network provider and completing paperwork. However, this process has been simplified. Users can now check the SIM owner's name and CNIC number by sending an SMS with the text 'MNP' to 667 from their SIM card. This service is available for subscribers of Jazz, Warid, Ufone, Zong, and Telenor. Additionally, there are Android apps and software options for checking SIM owner details online in Pakistan, although these may not be officially endorsed by the PTA.

It is important to remember that current regulations allow a maximum of five SIM cards to be registered under a single name. By adhering to these guidelines, users can ensure transparency and accountability in their SIM card ownership.
