A collaboration between the Special Communications Organization (SCO) and the Aga Khan Foundation, Pakistan (AKF,P) has led to the establishment of a cutting-edge Software Technology Park in Nasirabad, Hunza. This initiative aims to propel sustainable development in the picturesque region of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) by providing essential infrastructure and support for the burgeoning IT sector.

The Nasirabad Software Technology Park is set to offer a range of amenities including continuous power supply, high-speed internet connectivity, and a shared workspace tailored for startups, freelancers, and business associations. This strategic move is poised to transform the local economy and create new opportunities for digital innovation and entrepreneurship.

At the launch event, key stakeholders such as Major General Umar Ahmad Shah from SCO, Sultan Ali Allana from the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development, Nizar Mewawalla from the Ismaili Council for Pakistan, and Akhtar Iqbal from AKF, P, expressed optimism about the park's potential to catalyze economic growth in the region. Sultan Ali Allana highlighted the park's role in fostering international business connections and driving innovation, while Major General Umar Ahmad Shah underscored SCO's commitment to empowering youth through IT initiatives.

The Nasirabad Software Technology Park is part of SCO's Vision 2025, which aims to empower the youth by expanding IT and Free-Lancing Hubs (FLHs) in remote areas like Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
