SpaceX has achieved a significant milestone with the successful completion of the fourth test flight of its Starship spacecraft and Super Heavy booster. The uncrewed test vehicle underwent a challenging descent through Earth's atmosphere, culminating in a controlled water landing in the Gulf of Mexico. Standing nearly 400 feet tall, the rocket boasts 33 powerful Raptor engines on the Super Heavy booster, capable of generating over 16 million pounds of thrust at launch. The Starship upper stage features six Raptor engines, three of which are optimized for space travel.

While Super Heavy landed in the Gulf of Mexico, Starship reached a height of 214 km above Earth.

Despite visible damage to its control fin during re-entry, Starship attempted a landing burn near the Indian Ocean, providing valuable data for future design iterations. SpaceX is expanding its launch facilities in Boca Chica and Cape Canaveral to support upcoming Starship missions, marking a significant step towards the future of space exploration.
