Zynga and Lucasfilm Games to Launch 'Star Wars: Hunters'

Get ready for an exciting new addition to the Star Wars universe with the upcoming release of 'Star Wars: Hunters.' Developed by Zynga and Lucasfilm Games, this free-to-play team-based battle arena shooter is scheduled to launch on June 4, 2024, across Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android platforms.

Upon its debut, 'Star Wars: Hunters' will introduce 13 diverse characters, each with their own unique traits. Among them is Utooni, a peculiar character composed of two Jawas disguised in a trench coat. Additionally, players can expect to encounter J-3DI, a droid convinced it's a Jedi, and Slingshot, an Ugnaught who battles from within a Droideka.

The game's characters are designed to embody larger-than-life personalities, drawing inspiration from the world of professional wrestling. Dominic Estephane, the art director at Zynga, highlighted the theatrical presentation of the characters, complete with individual graphics packages, music themes, and grand entrances.

Adding to the immersive experience, 'Star Wars: Hunters' will feature two hosts, Boz Vega and LX-1, who anchor the in-universe show 'Hunters of the Outer Rim.' Boz Vega, a former renowned hunter, is joined by LX-1, a knowledgeable droid with a touch of wit, as they provide live coverage of the competitive events.

Originally announced in 2020 with a target release in 2021, 'Star Wars: Hunters' has undergone delays but is now on the brink of its highly anticipated launch. Fans can look forward to a fresh and engaging way to engage with the Star Wars universe through this innovative gaming experience.
