HWPL celebrates ten years of global peace initiatives, emphasizing education and unity for future generations.

Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) recently celebrated a significant milestone, marking a decade of unwavering commitment to global peace. Since its inception in 2014, HWPL has been at the forefront of peace initiatives, engaging with communities across 170 countries. The organization aims to review its achievements over the past ten years while also laying out plans for the future. This anniversary serves as a platform to gather regional talents and establish essential networks that are crucial for developing tailored peace strategies.

Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, HWPL is an international non-governmental organization affiliated with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). Over the past decade, HWPL has grown to encompass 500,000 members worldwide, collaborating with 1,014 organizations in 105 countries through Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs) and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs). This extensive network allows HWPL to implement various peace projects that address local peace threats and harness collective capacities.

During the anniversary celebrations, HWPL Chairman Lee Man-hee emphasized the detrimental impact of religious division, stating, "We must work together to create a world of peace and leave it as a legacy for future generations. This is to fulfill our mission as a light that brings life to the global village. Only through love and peace can the world become one." His words resonate deeply, highlighting the importance of dialogue and understanding among different faiths.

In line with the theme of regional cooperation, HWPL has formed partnerships with notable organizations such as the Group of 7+ (G7+) and The Latin American Parliament (Parlatino). These collaborations aim to develop peace initiatives that unite conflict-affected countries under a shared vision of peace, stability, and development. G7+ comprises 20 member states, while Parlatino includes 23 member states, both working towards promoting democracy and integration.

A notable peace project was presented by Dr. Jose Honorio da Costa Pereira Jeronimo, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Culture in Timor-Leste. He shared that his ministry, along with eight higher education institutions, has partnered with HWPL to introduce peace education in the country. He expressed, "I believe that peace education will play a crucial role, not just as a simple subject, but in helping students grow into future global citizens and in laying the foundation for peace and stability across society." This initiative underscores the vital role of education in fostering a culture of peace.

Furthermore, H.E. Prof. Dr. Emil Constantinescu, the third President of Romania, reminded participants of the 2014 HWPL summit that advocated for international cooperation in peacebuilding. He stated, "An incredible and impressive image proves that the faith in global peace is very much more than a mere initiative. It was then that I first truly felt that we are all one and be irrespective of our perceived differences. We are all united in one breath in the service of the greater calling of global peace." His reflections serve as a powerful reminder of the shared responsibility we all have in promoting peace.

In South Korea, the 'Together: Connecting Korea' campaign was officially launched as a national initiative aimed at fostering social harmony. This campaign, which aligns with 230 civil society organizations, seeks to connect generations and diverse cultures while also engaging in various environmental protection activities. Such efforts highlight the interconnectedness of peace and environmental sustainability.

As HWPL continues its journey towards global peace, it is essential for individuals and communities to recognize their role in this mission. By fostering dialogue, understanding, and cooperation, we can contribute to a more peaceful world. The legacy of peace is not just a dream; it is a collective responsibility that we must all embrace.
