Saudi Arabia's PIF launches QSAS to create immersive heritage experiences, boosting tourism and generating over 11,000 jobs by 2030.

Saudi Arabia is making significant strides in enhancing its cultural and entertainment landscape. Recently, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia announced the launch of the National Interactive Entertainment Company, also known as QSAS. This new company aims to create immersive storytelling experiences that are deeply rooted in the Kingdom's rich heritage and Islamic history.

According to a statement from PIF, QSAS will focus on developing, owning, and operating world-class interactive exhibitions across the Kingdom. This initiative is not just about entertainment; it is part of a broader strategy to balance the preservation of cultural heritage with the creation of thriving business opportunities. By doing so, the PIF aims to strengthen the local private sector through partnerships in various fields, including construction, event management, and technology.

Mishary Al-Ibraheem, who leads the entertainment, leisure, sports, and education sectors at PIF, emphasized the importance of this initiative. He stated, "The tourism and entertainment sector is a strategic local priority for PIF, as we focus on enriching the tourism and entertainment experience." This highlights the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing its appeal as a tourist destination.

QSAS is expected to play a crucial role in localizing knowledge and technology within the private sector's content creation industry. The company anticipates generating over 11,000 direct and indirect jobs by the year 2030. This is a significant boost for the local economy and reflects the Kingdom's dedication to fostering talent and innovation.

The firm plans to offer a variety of interactive exhibitions, including both permanent and touring displays. These exhibitions are designed to provide multisensory immersive experiences that not only enhance local culture but also boost the tourism sector. This initiative is part of the Pilgrim Experience Program, which is a Vision 2030 project aimed at accommodating 30 million pilgrims by 2030. Additionally, it complements the Ministry of Tourism's National Tourism Strategy, which aims to attract 150 million visitors annually by the same year.

The launch of QSAS represents a significant step forward for Saudi Arabia in its quest to become a leading tourist destination. By focusing on immersive experiences that celebrate the Kingdom's heritage, the PIF is not only preserving its cultural identity but also creating new economic opportunities. As the world continues to embrace interactive and engaging forms of entertainment, Saudi Arabia is positioning itself to be at the forefront of this global trend, ensuring that its rich history and culture are shared with the world.
