Saudi Minister Dr. Abdullatif Al-Asheikh inaugurates Himaya program in Al-Baha to combat ideological extremism and promote community awareness.
In a significant move to enhance community awareness and safeguard against ideological extremism, the Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Asheikh, inaugurated the Himaya advocacy program on Thursday in Al-Baha. This initiative, launched by the ministry’s local branch in collaboration with the Dawah and Guidance Association in Dus, Al-Mandaq governorate, aims to promote intellectual security within the region.
The Himaya program is designed to protect society from various ideological threats that can lead to extremism. By focusing on targeted advocacy, the initiative seeks to educate the public about the dangers posed by extremist groups and to instill values of good citizenship. This is particularly important during the spring break, a time when young people are more active and engaged in community activities across Al-Baha’s Sarawat and Tihama sectors.
One of the core objectives of the Himaya program is to emphasize moderation and tolerance. In a world where misinformation can spread rapidly, it is crucial for individuals, especially the youth, to be equipped with the right knowledge and values. The program will provide resources and support to help individuals recognize and reject extremist ideologies, fostering a more peaceful and harmonious society.
As the program unfolds, it is expected to engage various community members, including families, educators, and local leaders, in discussions about the importance of intellectual security. By creating a platform for dialogue, Himaya aims to build a resilient community that stands firm against the allure of extremism.
The Himaya advocacy program represents a proactive approach to addressing the challenges posed by ideological extremism in Saudi Arabia. By promoting good citizenship and encouraging moderation, this initiative not only seeks to protect individuals but also aims to strengthen the fabric of society as a whole. As communities come together to support this cause, it is hoped that the values of peace, tolerance, and understanding will flourish, paving the way for a brighter future for all.
