Abdul Karim Tordher leads KP-EZDMC's industrial transformation

The Cluster Development Department of KP-EZDMC, under the leadership of Abdul Karim Tordher, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Industries, Commerce, and Technical Education, is undergoing significant changes to better serve the industrial sector. Previously known for manufacturing hunting and sporting arms, the department has broadened its scope following its merger with KP-EZDMC.

Tordher recently chaired a meeting where he directed the department to enhance its capabilities in meeting the engineering and machinery requirements of industries across various sectors. He highlighted the importance of extending mechanical engineering services and encouraged the establishment of partnerships with the University of Technology Nowshera for collaborative research efforts. The ultimate aim is to elevate the institution into a financially stable and profitable organization.

The new objectives of the Cluster Development Department include technology upgradation of machinery, skill development initiatives, and promoting locally manufactured products. Future plans involve boosting business promotion activities, strengthening industry-academia partnerships, and showcasing local industries through exhibitions.

Tordher emphasized the need to improve mechanical engineering services and strengthen connections with the Board of Investment and Trade (BOIT). Furthermore, he instructed the department to expand its services to the gems and jewelry sector to further bolster industrial growth.
