The Capital Development Authority introduces 30 Electric-Buses for a sustainable public transit system, emphasizing renewable energy and EV adoption.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has welcomed a new era of eco-friendly transportation with the arrival of 30 Electric-Buses from China. These buses, stationed at the Convention Center, mark the beginning of a sustainable public transit system in the capital. The CDA has diligently prepared the necessary infrastructure for charging and maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of these electric vehicles.

Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Law and Justice, shared that this initial batch of buses is just the start, with two more batches on the way. The charging stations set up by the Chinese company can efficiently charge 12 buses simultaneously within 3 hours, promising a seamless operation for the entire fleet. A recent soft launch showcased the capabilities of these E-Buses, inviting members of Parliament to experience a ride firsthand.

Addressing concerns about depot delays, Senator Tarar explained the re-tendering process for establishing depots at various locations. Despite setbacks, efforts are underway to complete the depots within five months to support the upcoming bus batches.

Emphasizing safety measures, Senator Tarar reassured the public of precautions taken to prevent accidents or hazards at the facility. The government's commitment to promoting renewable energy and environmentally friendly practices, such as solar panels and electric vehicles, was underscored.

Senator Tarar highlighted the government's push for EV adoption, particularly E-Buses, due to their environmental advantages and cost savings. Import restrictions on luxury vehicles above 2500cc aim to encourage the public to opt for EVs, aligning with the government's green initiatives.

Senator Humayun Mohmand commended the introduction of E-Buses into the mass transit system and raised the prospect of a nationwide rollout of E-Buses in the future, signaling a positive shift towards sustainable transportation across the country.

The introduction of Electric Buses by the CDA signifies a significant step towards a cleaner and greener public transportation system in the capital. With a focus on sustainability and environmental consciousness, the government's initiatives pave the way for a more eco-friendly future for all citizens.
