The recent drop in chicken meat prices by Rs60/kg due to reduced demand offers consumers more affordable protein sources. Live chicken farm broilers now available for Rs265/kg in Punjab, while egg prices have slightly risen. Consumer choices influence market dynamics and pricing strategies.

The retail price of chicken meat has recently dropped by Rs60 per kilogram in various parts of the country, including Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab. This decline in price is a result of reduced demand, as individuals impacted by inflation are opting for alternative food choices. The boycott of chicken meat has led to a significant decrease in prices, with a kilogram now costing between Rs415-420, down from the previous range of Rs477-Rs490.

In Lahore and other cities in Punjab, consumers can now purchase live chicken farm broilers for Rs265 per kg, a notable decrease from Rs305 just a week ago. Furthermore, the price of eggs has slightly risen to Rs258 per dozen, with a full crate of approximately 350 eggs now priced at Rs7,620, reflecting an increase of around Rs60.

The recent price adjustments in the poultry market have provided consumers with more affordable options for protein sources. This decrease in chicken meat prices offers relief to individuals facing financial constraints due to rising inflation rates. It also highlights the importance of consumer choices in influencing market dynamics and pricing strategies.
