DLAB Support Scheme Showcases Local Design Innovations

The 5th Design Licensing and Business (DLAB) Support Scheme recently took place at HKILS 2024, showcasing 45 local design companies with innovative offerings. The event, organised by IEA and sponsored by CreateHK, aimed to provide a platform for these companies to gain exposure and support for their licensable businesses and products.

At the launch ceremony on 27 April 2024, Mr. LAU Chun, the Under Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of HKSAR Government, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The event also saw the presence of Ms. Cherrie Chong, President of IEA, and Dr. Patrick Lau, Deputy Executive Director of HKTDC.

Selected companies participating in the scheme were granted funding for a Greater Bay Area tour, allowing them to explore potential business opportunities in Mainland China. Additionally, first-time participants received a discounted exhibition fee of HK$3,000, while previous participants were offered a reduced fee of HK$5,000 to join HKILS 2024.

Among the standout companies featured at the event were A.N.D, Meowchi Co., Alpha Heart Design, Han Illustraveller, Bunny Hop Studio, and Big Bang Academy. Each of these companies offers unique design and creative services, ranging from brand development to animation production and science-focused EdTech solutions.
