Jaehoon Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai, appointed Co-Chair of the Hydrogen Council, driving global hydrogen technology adoption and sustainable energy solutions.

Hyundai Motor Company's President and CEO, Jaehoon Chang, has taken on a new role as Co-Chair of the Hydrogen Council, a global initiative aimed at promoting the use of hydrogen as a clean energy source. Alongside Sanjiv Lamba, CEO of Linde, Chang will work with other industry leaders to boost the adoption of hydrogen technology worldwide.

Chang's appointment follows his predecessor, Yoshinori Kanehana of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., and underscores Hyundai's longstanding commitment to hydrogen innovation. Since establishing its Fuel Cell research division in 1998, Hyundai has been a pioneer in developing hydrogen technology.

At CES 2024, Hyundai unveiled plans to expand its HTWO hydrogen fuel cell system brand, covering the entire hydrogen value chain. This move solidifies Hyundai's position as a leader in the hydrogen sector and highlights its dedication to sustainable energy solutions.

In a recent development, Hyundai introduced its U.S. clean logistics business at the ACT Expo 2024, showcasing the reliability of its XCIENT Fuel Cell electric trucks. These trucks have surpassed 10 million km in Swiss fleet operations, demonstrating the viability of hydrogen-powered vehicles.
