Nestlé Pakistan inaugurates N4HK room at The Trust School Lahore, promoting children's nutrition and healthy living.
In a significant step towards enhancing nutritional awareness among children, Nestlé Pakistan has inaugurated the Nestlé for Healthier Kids (N4HK) room at The Trust School in Lahore. This initiative is part of Nestlé's global commitment to promote healthy eating habits and physical activity among the younger generation. The N4HK program aims to educate children about the importance of nutrition as they grow, ensuring they understand how to make healthier choices.
Since its inception, the N4HK program has made remarkable strides, reaching out to approximately 360,000 children and training over 2,300 teachers. With the establishment of 17 N4HK rooms in collaboration with 11 partners from both the private and public sectors, the program is making a tangible impact on the lives of many.
During the inauguration ceremony, Béatrice Guillaume-Grabisch, the Global Head of Human Resources at Nestlé S.A., expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "It is an honor and privilege to be here today to celebrate the achievements of the Nestlé for Healthier Kids (N4HK) program in Pakistan. This initiative goes beyond simply educating children about the importance of nutrition and physical activity; it is about shaping a healthier future for generations to come." She further emphasized that the outreach of the N4HK program across Pakistan reflects Nestlé's commitment to promoting healthy nutrition in the country.
Jason Avanceña, the CEO of Nestlé Pakistan, also highlighted the importance of partnerships in this initiative. He remarked, "We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with The Trust School, which has been one of our oldest partners, having established three N4HK rooms and training more than 400 of their teachers, reaching out to over 10,000 children across different branches." This collaboration underscores the vital role that educational institutions play in fostering a culture of health and wellness.
Tahir Yousaf, the CEO of The Trust School, expressed gratitude towards Nestlé Pakistan for their support. He noted, "The Trust School has been providing quality education at subsidized rates or free of cost to meritorious students from underprivileged sections of society with 13 campuses in Lahore." This partnership not only enhances educational opportunities but also ensures that children receive essential knowledge about health and nutrition.
The N4HK initiative is designed to support teachers and caregivers in their efforts to raise healthier kids through a curriculum-based education program. This program promotes healthy nutrition, hydration, hygiene, and an active lifestyle, making it a comprehensive approach to child health. The N4HK program has expanded its reach across various regions, including Punjab, the Federal Capital, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and most recently, Gilgit Baltistan.
Moreover, the N4HK program aligns with Nestlé's commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, which focuses on Good Health and Well-Being. With over 35 years of presence in Pakistan, Nestlé continues to strive to be a force for good throughout its value chain, creating shared value for communities.
The inauguration of the N4HK room at The Trust School is a commendable effort towards building a healthier future for children in Pakistan. By educating young minds about the importance of nutrition and healthy living, Nestlé is not only contributing to individual well-being but also to the overall health of society. As we move forward, it is crucial for more organizations to join hands in such initiatives, ensuring that the next generation is equipped with the knowledge and tools to lead healthier lives.
