During the business week ending on June 6, the retail price of cement in Pakistan experienced a notable rise, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. This increase has impacted both northern and southern cities, with varying percentages.

In northern cities, the price per cement bag surged to Rs1,286, reflecting a 2.11% increase from the previous rate of Rs1,260. On the other hand, southern cities witnessed a more modest uptick, with the price reaching Rs1,199 per bag, showing a slight 0.08% increase from the previous week's rate of Rs1,198.

Breaking down the prices further, in Islamabad, the retail price of cement was reported at Rs1,294, while in Rawalpindi, it stood at Rs1,281. Other cities also saw varying prices: Gujranwala at Rs1,300, Faisalabad at Rs1,280, Lahore, Peshawar, and Bahawalpur at Rs1,300, and Sialkot at Rs1,260. Karachi recorded a per bag price of Rs1,165, while Hyderabad maintained a price of Rs1,180. Sukkur reported a price of Rs1,290, and Larkana at Rs1,173.

The recent increase in cement prices in Pakistan has impacted consumers across different regions. It is essential for individuals and businesses to stay informed about these fluctuations to make informed decisions regarding construction projects and other related activities.
