Pakistan seeks to enhance trade and investment through Linyi's logistics expertise, boosting economic growth and cooperation with China.
Pakistan is set to gain significantly from the logistics and customs operations expertise of Linyi, a city in Shandong province, China. This development comes as Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, recently visited Linyi, where he emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral trade cooperation between the two nations. The discussions held during this visit are expected to pave the way for improved trade and investment opportunities, particularly in the logistics sector.
During his meeting with the Mayor of Linyi, Zhang Baoliang, Ambassador Hashmi expressed Pakistan’s strong interest in leveraging Linyi’s advanced logistics capabilities. The two sides engaged in extensive discussions aimed at deepening cooperation across various sectors, with a particular focus on developing logistics networks and training initiatives. This collaboration is seen as a vital step towards strengthening the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is crucial for both countries' economic growth.
In addition to logistics, the discussions also touched upon cooperation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). This aspect is particularly important as it aims to equip the workforce with the necessary skills to thrive in a rapidly evolving economic landscape. By enhancing educational and training opportunities, both countries can ensure that their citizens are well-prepared to meet the demands of modern industries.
Ambassador Hashmi's visit included tours of several key facilities in Linyi, such as the Linyi Import Commodity City Mall, Linyi International Trade Centre, and Linyi Logistics Park. At each location, he received detailed briefings on the latest developments in trade facilitation and logistical infrastructure. These visits highlighted Linyi's strategic importance in both regional and global trade frameworks, showcasing how its advanced logistics capabilities can serve as a model for trade and economic cooperation.
Linyi is recognized as one of China’s largest logistics centers, playing a pivotal role in domestic and international commerce. Its modern infrastructure, including the Linyi Port and comprehensive logistics parks, facilitates the smooth movement of goods across borders. Furthermore, Linyi is a key player in China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which opens up expansive opportunities for economic partnerships with countries like Pakistan.
The collaboration between Pakistan and Linyi represents a promising avenue for enhancing trade and investment. By tapping into Linyi’s logistics expertise, Pakistan can not only improve its trade efficiency but also strengthen its economic ties with China. This partnership is expected to contribute to shared prosperity, benefiting both nations in the long run. As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, such collaborations will be essential for fostering economic growth and development.
