PM Shehbaz Sharif boosts investment with specialized desks

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken a significant step towards enhancing investment and trade opportunities by setting up six dedicated desks under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). These desks aim to strengthen economic relations with key partners, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, China, Qatar, the European Union, and the United States of America.

At a recent SIFC meeting led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and attended by top officials, the importance of the council in driving the country's progress was underscored. Emphasizing the need for unity among provincial governments, PM Sharif highlighted the collective effort required to overcome challenges and combat poverty and hunger.

Commending the support from provincial authorities, PM Sharif urged adherence to the vision of Pakistan's founding leaders. He shared positive outcomes from his UAE visit, where substantial investment commitments were secured for Pakistan, reflecting growing international confidence in SIFC.

Despite initial doubts, SIFC's effectiveness and accomplishments have silenced critics, gaining broad approval. PM Sharif highlighted the vast potential for advancement and urged stakeholders to focus on enhancing skills and professionalism across sectors.

He also emphasized the ongoing digital transformation of the Federal Bureau of Revenue and called for increased backing for local talent and industries. Recognizing the youth as a valuable resource, he stressed the importance of IT education and optimal utilization of untapped natural resources.

PM Sharif acknowledged SIFC's pivotal role in facilitating projects like Reko Diq in Balochistan, showcasing the council's contribution to national development.
