At the beginning of June, the major US stock exchanges displayed a varied performance. The Dow Jones started the day with a slight 0.18% decrease, standing at 38,617 by 10.05 a.m. EDT. This came after a notable 1.51% increase on Friday, marking its strongest daily performance of the year.

Shifting to the currency market, the dollar index fell by 0.13% to 104.53, whereas the euro strengthened by 0.36% against the dollar, reaching $1.0880. In the precious metals sector, gold surged by 0.56% to $2,340 per ounce, and silver saw a 0.26% increase to $30.46.

Looking at the energy sector, oil prices experienced a decline of around 2.1%. The global benchmark Brent crude was priced at $79.48 per barrel, with the US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $75.26.
