In recent times, the safety of foreign nationals, particularly Chinese citizens residing in Pakistan, has become a significant concern. With the increasing number of Chinese nationals working on various projects in the country, ensuring their security is paramount. The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) of Lahore, Bilal Siddique Kamyana, has taken a proactive stance by emphasizing the need for strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) aimed at safeguarding these individuals.

During a meeting held at his office, CCPO Kamyana reviewed the performance of the Civil Lines and City divisions of the police force. He expressed his satisfaction with the efforts of the Civil Lines division but urged for further improvements. Recognizing the hard work of his team, he awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to SP (Investigation) City, Munazza Karamat, for her success in reducing the backlog of under-investigation cases. This acknowledgment not only boosts morale but also sets a benchmark for others to follow.

In addition to enhancing the security of Chinese nationals, the CCPO highlighted the importance of making women’s police stations more active. He stressed that female complainants should receive excellent services, ensuring that their concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. This initiative is crucial in fostering trust between the police and the community, particularly among women who may feel hesitant to report crimes.

Addressing the issue of motorcycle theft, CCPO Kamyana called for an acceleration in operations against this crime. He emphasized the need for effective measures, particularly through the Anti Vehicle Lifting Staff (AVLS), to combat this growing problem. Furthermore, he urged for a more intense crackdown on drug dealers, insisting that intelligence-based operations be conducted to tackle drug trafficking effectively.

CCPO Kamyana also reminded the officers of their responsibility to manage crime through teamwork and joint planning. He stated that it is essential for officers to continually improve the quality of investigations to ensure timely justice for victims. This collaborative approach not only enhances the efficiency of police operations but also builds a stronger relationship between law enforcement and the community.

The protection of citizens’ lives, property, and dignity remains a primary responsibility of the police. The measures being implemented by CCPO Kamyana reflect a commitment to enhancing security and fostering a safer environment for all, especially for foreign nationals. As the police force continues to adapt and improve, it is crucial for the community to support these efforts, ensuring a collaborative approach to safety and security in Lahore.
