Jahan Stresses Youth Engagement in Governance

The Deputy Director of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission recently highlighted the crucial role that Pakistan's youth play in the country's development. With the youth making up over 60% of the population, their active involvement is seen as key to fostering prosperity and effective governance. Emphasizing the importance of monitoring public institutions and officials, the Deputy Director encouraged the youth to utilize their right to information. This right, he explained, has the potential to ensure a fair distribution of resources and opportunities across the nation.

At a seminar organized by CPDI and Individual, youth representatives from various regions came together to discuss the significance of youth engagement in governance. Jahan, a prominent figure at the event, stressed the need for integrating the right to information into daily practices. By doing so, he believes that corruption can be combated, and professional endeavors can be enhanced for the betterment of society.

Moreover, Jahan reassured participants that the KP RTI Act provides protection to complainants. This protection allows individuals to lodge complaints against public entities without fear, especially in cases of non-compliance with information requests. Encouraging the youth to embrace the right to information, Jahan highlighted its power as a tool for promoting transparency and accountability in public affairs.
