The Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, has unveiled plans to launch an online platform aimed at facilitating property transfers for Pakistani expatriates living abroad. This initiative is set to streamline the process for overseas Pakistanis residing in countries such as the US, UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Italy, and Spain. The minister has assured that property transfer matters, including those concerning power of attorney, will be efficiently resolved within a timeframe of 20 days.

Highlighting the significance of bolstering national institutions, Minister Salik emphasized the need for Pakistanis to explore local employment opportunities rather than resorting to illegal migration. He underscored the potential for job creation within domestic industries as a means to reduce the reliance on seeking employment overseas.

In a bid to enhance skills and employment prospects for Pakistanis, the minister disclosed a commitment from the Mayor of New York to prioritize individuals from Pakistan in the paramedical sector. This initiative aims to provide training opportunities to equip Pakistani expatriates with the necessary skills before they embark on overseas employment. Minister Salik also emphasized the pivotal role played by Pakistani expatriates as ambassadors and revealed that a substantial number of Pakistanis, ranging from 700,000 to 800,000 individuals, migrate annually for employment purposes.

Furthermore, the minister acknowledged the challenges faced by approximately 20,000 Pakistanis currently incarcerated in foreign prisons, shedding light on the need for support and assistance for these individuals.

The announcement of the online property transfer platform and the emphasis on promoting local employment opportunities reflect the government's commitment to addressing the needs of overseas Pakistanis. By facilitating property transfers and advocating for skill development and job creation within the country, the government aims to enhance the welfare and prospects of Pakistani expatriates. This initiative not only aims to streamline processes but also underscores the importance of supporting and empowering the Pakistani diaspora.
