Mirpur district police take strict action to remove black-tinted windows from vehicles, imposing fines and confiscating motorbikes to uphold traffic regulations and enhance road safety.
In response to a region-wide initiative, Mirpur district police have launched a comprehensive campaign to eliminate artificially black-tinted window panes from vehicles of all types. Senior Superintendent of Police Kamran Ali revealed that the Mirpur city police have taken decisive action against vehicles sporting black window panes with artificially-affixed black sheets. The crackdown targeted both private and public service vehicles, including luxury cars and jeeps.
During surprise checks at key locations such as central Sheheed Chowk, Khaliq Abad Cross, and Mian Muhammad Buksh Town, the police removed black sheets from over 1060 vehicles. The operation was carried out by dedicated police teams led by Station House Officers and other officials, ensuring thorough enforcement across densely populated areas.
On a single day of inspection, the Mirpur police not only removed black-tinted windows from numerous vehicles but also imposed fines on 80 offenders amounting to Rs. 25,000. Additionally, 267 motorbikes were confiscated for lacking registration number plates and valid documents, further emphasizing the authorities' commitment to upholding traffic regulations.
The stringent measures taken by the Mirpur district police underscore the importance of adhering to vehicle safety and legal requirements.
