RDA issues notices to 149 illegal housing schemes, urging citizens to verify legality before investing to prevent financial losses.
The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken a significant step to protect the public from the rising threat of illegal housing schemes. In a recent announcement, the RDA revealed that it has issued notices to 149 housing schemes that are operating without proper approval. This decisive action aims to safeguard citizens from exploitation and financial losses that often accompany these fraudulent ventures.
Director General of RDA, Kinza Murtaza, addressed the media, emphasizing the Authority's commitment to combating these illegal schemes. She stated, "RDA is committed to ensuring that the general public is protected from the harmful effects of these illegal schemes." The RDA has launched a comprehensive campaign to raise awareness about the dangers posed by these schemes, which often lure unsuspecting buyers with promises of properties that exist only on paper.
Many of these schemes have been misleading the public by advertising non-existent properties, leading to substantial financial losses for many families. Murtaza highlighted that these schemes have been operating under false pretenses, offering dreams of home ownership that are nothing more than illusions. "These schemes have stolen people's hard-earned money by offering only dreams of home ownership," she remarked.
In her address, Murtaza urged citizens to exercise caution and verify the legality of any housing scheme before making an investment. She advised, "We advise everyone to consult with RDA to ensure that the scheme they are interested in is legally approved, and their investment is secure." This is a crucial reminder for potential buyers to do their due diligence and avoid falling victim to scams.
The RDA has also halted the approval of new housing schemes while conducting a thorough survey to categorize existing schemes based on their legal status. This survey has identified several schemes as illegal or completely fake, including Bin Alam City, CBR Residency, and Media Enclosure, among others. Additionally, completely fake schemes such as Khyber Model Town and Pak PWD have been flagged, along with non-existent schemes like Regent Farm House and AM Town.
The RDA's proactive measures serve as a vital warning to the public about the risks associated with illegal housing schemes. As the housing market continues to grow, it is essential for individuals to remain vigilant and informed. By consulting with the RDA and verifying the legitimacy of housing schemes, citizens can protect their investments and ensure that their dreams of home ownership are built on solid ground. The RDA's commitment to monitoring and regulating housing schemes will help create a safer environment for all potential homeowners in the region.
