Sindh Excise & Taxation Department Boosts Efficiency with Premium Plates Office

The Sindh Excise & Taxation department in Karachi has taken a significant step by deciding to set up a dedicated office for issuing premium number plates. This decision comes after a highly successful auction that garnered substantial funds for the department. The move was finalized during a meeting led by Sindh Excise & Taxation Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

In the initial phase of the auction, the department received an overwhelming response, raising an impressive Rs675.4 million through the sale of 40 premier number plates. Notably, a staggering Rs100 million was earned from the auction of the premier plate number 1.

Building on the triumph of the first auction, the department is gearing up to kick off the second phase shortly. The proceeds from the auction of premium number plates will be allocated towards aiding the victims of the 2022 floods in Sindh. Furthermore, plans are underway to simplify the vehicle registration process by establishing a motor registration office in the South District that will offer evening services.

Minister Memon stressed the significance of enhancing the registration process and expressed a keen interest in enhancing the department's operational efficiency.

The department's commitment to utilizing auction revenues for flood relief efforts underscores its dedication to serving the community.
