Allegations of promoting enmity and false accusations related to Delhi liquor scam. Chadha labeled as 'Khalistani supporter' after meeting with UK MP. AAP clarifies Chadha's UK surgery for retinal detachment.

An FIR has been lodged by the Punjab Police against a YouTube channel named 'Capital TV' for allegedly spreading misleading information and equating Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha with fugitive Vijay Mallya. The complaint was filed by Vikas Prashar, son of AAP candidate Ashok Pappi Prashar, from the Ludhiana Lok Sabha seat.

The FIR accuses the channel of disseminating defamatory and misleading content related to the Delhi liquor scam, where AAP was falsely accused of selling election tickets. The complaint highlighted that such false information could incite public unrest and promote enmity among different groups based on religion, caste, race, and community.

The YouTube channel allegedly compared Chadha to Mallya, claiming that just like Mallya fled to the UK after misusing public funds, a Rajya Sabha member also left for England under the guise of eye treatment. Additionally, the channel labeled Chadha as a 'Khalistani supporter' after his meeting with UK MP Preet Gill.

The FIR has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 153A for promoting enmity between groups, Section 469 for forgery, and Section 505 for making statements likely to cause public mischief. It also includes Section 66 of the Information Technology Act, addressing computer-related offences.

In response to the allegations, AAP sources mentioned that Chadha is scheduled to undergo a vitrectomy surgery in the UK to prevent retinal detachment, a serious condition that requires immediate treatment to avoid permanent vision damage.

The Punjab Police's action against the YouTube channel underscores the importance of responsible reporting and the consequences of spreading false and defamatory content that can disrupt public harmony.
