Achakzai Leads Talks with Sharif and Zardari

PkMAP Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai has been appointed to spearhead discussions with PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari. Achakzai stressed the significance of a robust military for Pakistan and made it clear that his movement stands for democracy and adherence to the Constitution.

He cautioned that if Zardari and Sharif opt not to join the coalition, they could encounter public discontent due to the escalating cost of living. The talks will center on the release of imprisoned leaders, ensuring fair elections, and outlining the constitutional limits of state institutions.

Furthermore, PTI leadership, including Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, is actively participating in negotiations with the government. Khan expressed a readiness to forgive past grievances in the interest of reconciliation and affirmed that the talks were a decision made independently by PTI.

PTI's pivot towards dialogue came after Khan's move to alleviate political tensions by engaging with various political parties both within and outside the Parliament. The party aims to fortify its ties with ruling coalition partners and other political factions.
