Pakistan Peoples Party's Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari expected to return as foreign minister in a power-sharing deal with ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, potentially strengthening PPP's position domestically and internationally.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is expected to make a comeback as the country's foreign minister in a potential power-sharing deal with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N). Sources familiar with the matter suggest that Bilawal is set to join Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's cabinet as the foreign minister, following recent discussions between the two parties.

It is reported that Bilawal, initially hesitant to take up a cabinet position, has now agreed to reassume the role of foreign minister. The PML-N and PPP are currently ironing out the specifics and timeline for PPP's formal inclusion in the cabinet, with indications pointing towards a June timeframe, possibly before the upcoming budget presentation.

The incumbent foreign minister, Ishaq Dar, is said to be transitioning to the role of deputy prime minister to accommodate Bilawal's return to the Foreign Office. Sources suggest that Dar's preference for overseeing the Finance Ministry led to this strategic move by the PML-N leadership.

PPP members view Bilawal's previous tenure as foreign minister during the PDM government positively, noting his contributions to enhancing the party's domestic and international standing. The decision for PPP to join the cabinet will ultimately rest with its Central Executive Committee (CEC), following the party's earlier support for PML-N in forming the government post-elections.

With the stage seemingly set for Bilawal's reappointment as foreign minister, the move is anticipated to further strengthen his and PPP's position within the government and on the global stage.
