Democrats Panel Sweeps KUJ Dastoor Elections

The recent Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) Dastoor elections saw the Democrats Panel secure key positions, marking a significant moment in the organization's history. The elections, held to determine the leadership of the KUJ, resulted in the victory of the Democrats Panel, with Hamid ur Rahman Awan elected as President and Syed Nabeel Akhtar as Secretary.

The Democrats Panel, led by Awan and Akhtar, clinched multiple seats, including President, Secretary, Senior Vice President, and Senior Joint Secretary. The successful candidates garnered notable support from the members, with a total of 6 women among the elected officials, reflecting a diverse representation within the KUJ.

On the other hand, the Friends Panel secured positions such as Treasurer, Information Secretary, and Joint Secretary, showcasing a competitive electoral process. Despite strong contenders like Ahmed Daraz Khan and Mansoor Ahmed Qureshi from the Friends Panel, the Democrats Panel emerged victorious, highlighting the confidence placed in their leadership abilities by the KUJ members.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) congratulated the newly elected officials, underscoring the importance of a free and independent press in society. The successful outcome of the elections signifies a new chapter for the KUJ, with a renewed focus on upholding journalistic integrity and promoting press freedom.
