Imran Khan's Legal and Political Turmoil Unveiled

The United Nations' Working Group on Arbitrary Detention has raised serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding Imran Khan's detention and prosecution in the Toshakhana and cypher cases. Imran Khan's legal troubles began when he was convicted by the Election Commission of Pakistan for concealing details of state gifts, resulting in a three-year jail sentence. However, a recent decision by a district and sessions court in Islamabad rejected pleas to suspend the seven-year sentences of Imran Khan and his wife in the Iddat case.
