Session Judge Shahrukh Arjumand dismisses transfer application in the case involving Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, emphasizing the importance of justice and impartiality in the legal system.

In a recent development, Session Judge (East) Shahrukh Arjumand has dismissed an application filed by the former husband of Bushra Bibi to transfer a case involving the conviction of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in an unlawful marriage case. The couple was convicted by Judge Qudrat Ullah on February 3rd, just five days before the general elections, in a marathon jail trial at Adiala Jail, resulting in a seven-year imprisonment.

The complainant, Khawar Maneka, expressed concerns at the District Judicial Complex in Islamabad, stating that he felt the court was inclined towards PTI and Imran Khan Niazi. Despite his objections, Judge Arjumand refused to transfer the case, emphasizing the need for justice above all else.

Advocate Salman Akram Raja, representing Imran Khan, dismissed Maneka's claims as lies and an attempt to pressure the court. Judge Arjumand highlighted the challenges faced in the country, where winning a case is accepted, but losing leads to accusations of corruption.

After hearing arguments from both sides, Judge Arjumand reserved the verdict, citing legal constraints that prevent the transfer of a case once the hearing has commenced. The application was ultimately dismissed, and the next hearing is scheduled for May 8th, with a warning that the case may proceed in the complainant's absence if they fail to appear.

This decision underscores the complexities of the legal system and the importance of upholding justice impartially, regardless of the parties involved. The case continues to draw attention due to its high-profile nature and the implications for all parties concerned.
