Deputy PM Ishaq Dar expresses optimism for Pakistan's future following economic reforms and a successful SCO summit.
In recent times, Pakistan has been navigating through a complex web of challenges, ranging from economic instability to energy shortages. However, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has expressed optimism about the country's trajectory under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He believes that Pakistan is now 'out of the woods' and has regained its former glory, no longer grappling with crises such as inflation and international isolation.
During a meeting with a delegation from the Stability Pakistan Overseas Forum (IPOF), which included members from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Spain, Senator Dar highlighted the various reforms implemented by the current government. These reforms aim to provide relief to the masses and steer the nation back on the right path. He emphasized that Pakistan's unique geo-strategic location has garnered recognition from the global community, allowing the country to overcome significant economic and energy challenges with the support of its allies.
One of the notable achievements mentioned by Dar was the recent historic summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Islamabad. He described this event as a 'great honor' for Pakistan, showcasing the country's proactive foreign policy. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the delegation for their confidence in the leadership and the government's efforts, acknowledging the vital role that overseas Pakistanis play in supporting their homeland.
Dar reiterated Pakistan's commitment to the SCO Charter, emphasizing the importance of enhancing trade, investment, and development opportunities, particularly for youth and women. He also reaffirmed Pakistan's support for Palestine, detailing the country's initiatives in international forums like the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the SCO. Notably, he announced that Palestinian medical students would receive assistance to complete their education in Pakistan, reflecting the country's commitment to humanitarian efforts.
The delegation, which included various prominent figures from Sweden, Norway, and Spain, congratulated the Government of Pakistan, especially Senator Ishaq Dar, for effectively addressing the nation's challenges within a short span of time. This acknowledgment underscores the positive perception of Pakistan's current leadership on the international stage.
As Pakistan continues to navigate its path towards stability and growth, the collaborative efforts between the government and overseas Pakistanis will be crucial. The commitment to reform and proactive foreign policy not only aims to uplift the nation but also to foster a sense of unity among its citizens, both at home and abroad. With the right strategies in place, Pakistan is poised to emerge stronger, ready to face the challenges of the future.
