Prime Minister lauds Kashmiri voters for record turnout

Since the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, significant positive changes have been observed in the region. Following the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, Jammu and Kashmir experienced notable transformations. Record turnouts were witnessed in parliamentary elections in Srinagar, Baramulla, and Anantnag-Rajouri constituencies, showcasing the active engagement of the local population. The Prime Minister lauded the people of Kashmir for their warm reception during events related to the G20 summit.

Despite temporary inconveniences like internet shutdowns, the Prime Minister justified these measures as necessary for the greater good. He expressed contentment over the enthusiastic voter turnout in the Lok Sabha polls, emphasizing the importance of voting as a symbol of acceptance of the Indian Constitution and loyalty to the nation.

The Lok Sabha polls, conducted in six phases, are scheduled to conclude on June 1, with vote counting set for June 4.
