Punjab Agriculture Secretary Emphasizes Water Management for Cotton Cultivation

In a recent meeting held in Lahore, Punjab Agriculture Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo highlighted the importance of enhancing coordination with the Irrigation department to ensure timely provision of water during cotton cultivation in the cotton zone. The meeting, chaired by Secretary Sahoo, focused on reviewing the current situation of the cotton crop in the region.

Secretary Sahoo instructed all Agriculture Extension directors to compile a detailed report on the canals responsible for supplying water on a priority basis. This year, the Land Information and Management System team will closely monitor field staff activities during cotton cultivation to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Additionally, Secretary Sahoo mandated the preparation of a comprehensive report detailing the division-wise wheat harvest, including per-acre production figures and future crop cultivation trends.
