Punjab Government Distributes Rs 45 Million Grant to Support Lawyers

The legal profession plays a crucial role in upholding justice and ensuring the rule of law in any society. On a recent occasion, the presidents and general secretaries of these Bar Associations gathered in Lahore to meet with Punjab's Law Minister, Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth. The delegation included notable figures such as Barrister Qadir Bakhsh, the General Secretary of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, and other prominent leaders from the respective Bar Associations.

The distribution of the grant was as follows: the Lahore High Court Bar received a substantial amount of Rs 30 million, while Minchinabad Bar and Haroonabad Bar each received Rs 2.5 million. Additionally, the Fort Abbas Bar was awarded Rs 5 million, and the Chishtian Bar also received Rs 5 million. These funds are intended to enhance the facilities available to lawyers, enabling them to build female bar rooms, establish e-libraries, construct executive rooms, and purchase essential resources such as books, computers, and furniture.

During the meeting, Law Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth emphasized the government's dedication to resolving the issues faced by lawyers. He assured the attendees that the Punjab government is actively working to provide continuous support for the welfare of the legal community. Furthermore, he mentioned the development of several programs specifically designed for lawyers, including training initiatives and the establishment of daycare centers for female lawyers. These efforts aim to address the unique challenges that female lawyers encounter in their professional lives.
