Rana Sanaullah's viral video from Paris raises concerns over his conduct during official duties, prompting criticism from political opponents regarding the use of taxpayer funds.
Recently, a video featuring Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister's Adviser on Political and Public Affairs, went viral on social media. The video shows him enjoying a boat ride in Paris with his wife. This incident has sparked significant controversy, especially as it coincided with his official visit to attend important events related to the 11th Commonwealth Sports Ministers Conference and the Paris Olympics.
During his trip, which took place last month, Rana Sanaullah was in Paris to represent Pakistan at the opening ceremony of the international multi-sports event. He also participated in the Commonwealth sports ministers’ meeting held on July 24-25. In addition to these events, he attended the "Change The Game" Ministerial Forum at UNESCO, where discussions focused on enhancing physical education and sports for sustainable social benefits, as reported by the state broadcaster PTV.
However, the viral video has drawn sharp criticism from political opponents. They have accused the senior leader of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of "enjoying family vacations" at the expense of taxpayers while he was supposed to be attending official duties. This criticism raises questions about the use of public funds and the responsibilities of government officials during official trips.
The incident highlights the ongoing scrutiny faced by public officials regarding their conduct while representing the country abroad. It serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability and transparency in government actions. As citizens, it is crucial to remain informed and engaged with the activities of our leaders, ensuring they prioritize their responsibilities over personal enjoyment.
