New Zealand's preparations for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan have been marred by injuries to key players. Finn Allen and Adam Milne have been ruled out of the squad due to back and ankle injuries, respectively. In response, the team has swiftly brought in replacements, with Tom Blundell and Zack Fowlkes joining the squad.

Blundell, a seasoned wicketkeeper-batter, brings valuable experience to the team, having previously toured Pakistan. Fowlkes, on the other hand, is making his debut in the squad after an impressive season with Canterbury.

Coach Gary Stead expressed his sympathy for Allen and Milne, highlighting their contributions to the team in the T20 format. The squad, which is set to depart for Pakistan today, will face the challenge of adapting to the absence of nine players who are currently engaged in the Indian Premier League.

The series is scheduled to commence on April 18 at the Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi. Despite the setbacks, New Zealand remains determined to put up a strong performance against Pakistan in what promises to be an exciting T20I series.
