A record number of Pakistani runners are gearing up to showcase their talent at the prestigious 2024 London Marathon, scheduled to take place in the British capital tomorrow. A total of 27 Pakistani participants, including expats from various countries, are all set to hit the iconic marathon route, which winds past famous landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the Tower of London, and Canary Wharf.

Among the notable Pakistani runners is journalist Rehman Azhar, who will be completing his third World Major Marathon in London, following successful runs in Berlin and Chicago in 2023. Additionally, expats Babar Ghias and Jamal Khan from Chicago and New York are on track to achieve their Six Star journey, with the London Marathon marking a significant milestone in their quest.

Women runners from Pakistan will also be making their mark at the London Marathon this year, with several participants having been part of the country's largest contingent at the Berlin Marathon in 2023. Notable figures like Semeena Khan, a British Pakistani marathon runner and coach, along with couples Uzma Abid and Abdul Samee, and Zain Anwar and Nada Anwar, are all geared up to take on the challenge together.

The 2024 London Marathon holds special significance as it will pay tribute to Kelvin Kiptum, last year's winner who tragically passed away in a car accident earlier this year. The event will also see celebrities like comedian Romesh Ranganathan and actor Phil Dunster making their London Marathon debut, adding to the excitement surrounding the race.

For those eager to catch the action, the London Marathon can be viewed live on BBC, BBC iPlayer, and the Red Button. Spectators can also download the London Marathon app to track their favorite runners using their name or bib number, making it easier to follow multiple participants throughout the event.

With a diverse and talented group of Pakistani runners ready to take on the challenge, the 2024 London Marathon promises to be a thrilling and memorable event for both participants and spectators alike.
