LAHORE: The Sheheryar Malik Memorial Pakistan Open Tennis Championship 2024 is currently taking place at the Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy in Nishtar Park. This prestigious event has attracted top talent from across the country, showcasing the best of Pakistani tennis. As the pre-quarterfinals concluded, fans witnessed thrilling matches filled with intense competition and remarkable performances.
In the men’s singles pre-quarterfinals, seasoned player Shoaib Khan displayed his dominance by comfortably defeating Amir Mazari with a score of 6-1, 6-1. Aqeel Khan also had a strong showing, overcoming Shehzad Khan in a closely contested match, winning 6-4, 6-4. Other notable victories included Barkat Ullah, who triumphed over Sami Zeb Khan 7-5, 6-2, and Abubakar Talha, who breezed past Haider Ali Rizwan with a score of 6-2, 6-2. M Abid outlasted Heera Ashiq in a nail-biting match, winning 7-6, 6-4, while Yousaf Khalil edged past Huzaima Abdul Rehman 6-1, 7-6. Muzamil Murtaza also secured a victory against Hasheesh Kumar, winning 6-1, 7-6.
