Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, recently met with a delegation of IT entrepreneurs in Washington to discuss the growth and potential of Pakistan's tech sector. Ambassador Khan highlighted the increasing investments and programs in Pakistan, particularly in fintech, healthtech, transportation, and real estate.

He praised the progress of Pakistan's IT exports, which have now reached $4 billion, and emphasized the opportunities for collaboration between Pakistan and the US in the IT and tech sectors. The presence of international IT corporations like HP, DELL, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle, NCR, Teradata, and Google in Pakistan was also noted, showcasing the country's growing digital economy.

The delegation shared exciting initiatives, including the launch of the 'Certified Cloud Applied Generative AI' program to train 30,000 IT students, engineers, and professionals. They also discussed plans to establish a database of trained IT experts in Pakistan and create better job opportunities for Pakistani freelancers both locally and globally.

Looking ahead, the delegation expressed their intention to set up a Tech National Incubation Centre in Karachi and other parts of Pakistan, focusing on manufacturing low-cost software engineering products for export to the United States. This initiative aims to support education, research, and business opportunities in cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Internet of Things, and Cloud Native Computing.
