Heavy monsoon rainfall in Lahore brings relief from heat but poses challenges like flooding and power outages. Stay cautious and prepared for more rain.

Lahore, the capital of Punjab, encountered heavy monsoon rainfall on Saturday, providing relief to residents from the scorching heat as the temperature dropped to 28 degrees. However, the high humidity levels, exceeding 80%, persisted in the city. The heavy rainfall resulted in flooding in low-lying areas and caused power outages in certain parts of Lahore.

Various localities including Lakshmi Chowk, Gulberg, Upper Mall, Mughalpura, Tajpura, Baghbanpura, Garhi Shahu, Nishtar Town, Pani Wala Talab, Gulshan Ravi, Sanda, Allama Iqbal Town, Qartaba Chowk, Samanabad, and Johar Town experienced intense rain showers. The downpour led to waterlogging on roads, creating challenges for motorists, and disrupted power supply due to tripped LESCO feeders.

The Meteorological Office has predicted further rainfall in Lahore within the next 24 hours. This weather phenomenon is attributed to robust monsoon currents originating from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal, impacting the upper and central regions of Pakistan.

The heavy monsoon rainfall in Lahore brought relief from the heat but also posed challenges such as flooding and power outages. Residents are advised to stay cautious and prepared for more rain in the coming days. It is essential to take necessary precautions to ensure safety and minimize disruptions caused by the inclement weather conditions.
