Get ready for a weekend of unpredictable weather in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa! According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, intermittent rain, wind, and thunderstorms are on the horizon. This weather phenomenon is due to strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal, combined with a westerly trough affecting upper and central Pakistan.

Areas like Balakot, Mansehra, and Abbottabad should brace for more rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with the possibility of heavy falls. Local streams might experience flash floods, and urban flooding could occur in Peshawar. Additionally, landslides may cause traffic disruptions in the hilly regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Peshawar is expected to have maximum temperatures between 38-40°C on Saturday and 37-39°C on Sunday. Recent weather patterns have already brought rain and thunderstorms to upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while other areas have been experiencing hot and humid conditions.

Notably, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan recorded the highest temperatures at 41°C, with Peshawar reaching 37°C. The evening relative humidity was measured at 63%.

As the weekend approaches, keep an eye on the weather updates and be prepared for any sudden changes. Remember to stay indoors during thunderstorms, avoid crossing flooded areas, and drive cautiously in case of heavy rain. Stay safe and enjoy the cooler weather that the rain brings!
