Skymet Weather predicts a 'normal' monsoon for North India, while IMD warns of heatwave conditions in parts of India. La Nina expected to strengthen monsoon circulation, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and weather monitoring.

Skymet Weather has forecasted a 'normal' monsoon for North India from June to September, providing a respite from earlier predictions of a severe heatwave. While Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh are expected to receive adequate rainfall, Bihar and West Bengal may face a deficit during the peak monsoon months of July and August. South, West, and Northwest regions of India are predicted to experience good rains.

However, Northeast India may receive below-average rainfall in the initial half of the season. The monsoon is estimated to be at 102% of the long-period average, with the transition from El Nino to La Nina expected to strengthen the monsoon circulation.

Skymet MD Jatin Singh highlighted the potential impact of La Nina on the monsoon, stating that the second half of the season is likely to be more favorable despite initial risks due to the remnants of El Nino.

The Goa State Disaster Management Authority issued preventive measures following IMD's prediction of 'heatwave like conditions' in the state for the next seven days. Tamil Nadu has already experienced temperatures exceeding 40 degrees in Karur and Dharmapuri.

IMD forecasts heatwave conditions in parts of east and peninsular India, including Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, North Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, and Telangana.

As the monsoon season approaches, the forecast provides valuable insights for regions across India, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and monitoring weather updates.
